The Current Podcast is a sanctuary for thought and creativity, where deep, unfiltered conversations unfold. Exploring mental health, medical neglect, queer identity, burnout, and more, each episode is crafted with care by your host, creator, editor, and producer — Maria.

Join a diverse range of voices — artists, writers, filmmakers, and visionaries — as we share stories, uncover insights, and set waves of change in motion.

I longed to keep spreading my words and ideas, but in a way that flowed more freely — unbound by the weight of print. And so, The Current Podcast was born, the child of The Current Magazine, carrying stories like ripples on water, reaching those who need them most.

Through each carefully woven episode, I dive into profound and necessary conversations on mental health, medical neglect, growing up queer in a conservative country, recovering from burnout and many more. Every word, every sound, every nuance is lovingly crafted by me — as the sole host, creator, editor, and producer of this endeavor.

The voices that join me are as diverse as the stories we tell — an art manager, an award-winning director and film scholar, a singer, a writer, a creative director, and many more kindred spirits who bring their unique wisdom to the ever-flowing dialogue.

More than a podcast, The Current is a sanctuary for thought and creativity — a place where stories are shared, insights are uncovered, and waves of change are set in motion.
